My Early Life

I grew up and came of age in the late sixties and early seventies.  Falling prey to the sex, drug, and rock and roll scene in my teens, I found myself  a single mom at age eighteen.  I raised my son for twelve years by myself, working my way out of poverty by putting myself through college and climbing the corporate ladder going from $25,000 to $50,000 a year in the early 80’s. I married for the first time at age thirty, and became a widow at age thirty-five.  In a two-year time period my whole outer identity fell away.  I was no longer a wife; nor a mother in the same way as my son left home; and no longer an employee with a community after giving up my seven-year career at the yellow pages to find my “true self.”  To read more about my personal story click here. 22

I consider myself an expert in change, transition, and the transformation of women, because I have lived it.

My Mid-Life Journey

After giving up my seven-year career at the yellow pages, I traveled to Scotland, England, and Ireland to explore my roots and ended up on the Island of Iona exploring what it means to “Birth the Undivided Self.”  There I discovered the next steps on my path were to guide others through the life, death and rebirth, spiritual journey that calls people to their true selves. I began and completed a master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology (a form of depth psychology.)  During my studies I became passionate about women’s studies and began working with women in transition and teaching and speaking. In 2010 I completed a three-year body/soul leadership program with Jungian Analyst Marion Woodman, movement teacher Mary Hamilton, and voice and acting teacher Anne Skinner. I knew then, as I continue to transform my own life that my deeper calling was to help restore the balance of the feminine by helping women to heal the feminine and find a mature masculine within.

Over the years I have had the great pleasure and privilege of studying with many great visionary teachers and leaders who have influenced my work….

In addition I have worked and taken classes on-line with the late Debbie Ford, Dark Side of the Light Chasers; Clarissa Pinkola Estes, author of Women Who Run with the Wolves; Flora Bowley, Intutive Painter; and Claire Zammit & Katherine Woodward Thomas, Feminine Power. I have been and will continue to be a life-long learner.

It seems the older I get, the more amazing my life becomes.

Current Passions

  • Art making of any kind (I didn’t discover my inner artist until I was well into my fifties)
  • Photography
  • Reading, researching, teaching, and presenting
  • Family
  • Collecting family stories from my Irish grandmother and the history of her and her 14 children and how they survived in the wilderness and lived off the land. My hope is someday to create a Little House on the Prairie Series of my own using their stories.

“I currently live in beautiful scenic North Idaho up near the Canadian Border with my husband Randy, Golden Retriever, Daisy, and elder therapy cat, Sherman.
